In February 2005, three cyclones (hurricanes in the southern hemisphere) smashed into South Pacific Islands from Samoa to the Cook Islands. After Meena and Nancy brought high winds, Olaf coincided with high tides and drove waves 100 meters inland, demolishing buildings along the west coast of Rarotonga.
